Many reported this app was added to their startup apps without their knowledge. Hotkey for Dev Home Project Ironsides is related to Dev Home, and the latest update changed how this app works, thus adding it to the startup.

This has occurred on all PCs, and even for users that have never used Dev Home in the past.

How can I remove Hotkey for Dev Home Project Ironsides?

  1. Press the Windows key + S and type PowerShell. Choose the Run as administrator option.
    run windows powershell as administrator
  2. Next, run the following command: Get-AppxPackage *DevHome* | Remove-AppxPackage
    Get-AppxPackage devhome powershell command
  3. Wait for the process to finish.

By doing so, you’ll remove Dev Home from your PC as well as Hotkey for Dev Home Project Ironsides.

This application isn’t harmful and it won’t cause any damage to your PC, so don’t be too alarmed if you notice it among startup apps. If you don’t use Dev Home, go ahead and remove it altogether by using the steps above.
