The end of Windows Phone in 2017 was a huge blow for many in the Microsoft community. The platform has been dying for some time, but fans and companies supporting it still wish that Microsoft would come back one day.

Proloy Karmakar, a graphic artist from India, put up many concept pictures for how Windows 11 Mobile might look like in the year 2024. And they are quite good indeed.

Karmakar quickly started using Figma and created an entire design idea for Windows 11 Mobile—it offered fresh interfaces, along with widgets, and even resurrected the previous Windows Phone starting display.

Karmakar’s creativity did not stop at the new appearance. He further conceptualized Windows 11 Mobile operating on a Surface Phone, making fun of forthcoming features such as backing up the latest AI and AR applications and improved blending into Windows 11 on desktop computers.

The designer visualized a Home ScreenSwipe, a Lockscreen with Copilot Quick access, a Notification Panel, a Settings Page, a File Manager, a Volume panel with advanced controls, and a Windows-themed call dialer.

It’s a cool idea, and I feel Microsoft may have tried this if they hadn’t abandoned Windows Phone completely. You can see Karmakar’s complete concept on Figma, so please share your thoughts in the comments. Do you long for Windows Phone, or do you believe it was best to end its life?
